Ashes 2019 | Will join an umpiring school back in Australia, quips Tim Paine on DRS blunder

Australia, who were trailing by 382 runs at Stumps Day 4 of the fifth Ashes Test, failed to take up the chances that they got to remove English batsmen as their captain Tim Paine twice made a DRS blunder by not taking the reviews which could've been successful for the team. 

One result of Australia's couple of blunders was Joe Denly's 94, who should have been out lbw to Mitchell Marsh when he was on 54 had Tim Paine taken the review but Australia didn't challenge the not-out decision. 

Once again wicket-keeper captain Tim Paine, who has attested that being a gloveman gives an advantage to the skipper, failed to put DRS to proper use as once again he missed out on gauging a sure wicket when he did not challenge the not-out decision given to Jos Buttler, who was out on lbw according to replays, on a Nathan Lyon delivery. Buttler, batting on 19 then, went on to score 47, hence adding to the massive lead of 399 runs that put England way ahead of Australia. 

“I’m getting it wrong. I don’t know what else to say. We’re having a mare (nightmare). We’ve got it wrong,” Paine was quoted saying by the Sportstar.

“It’s fast. It’s a tough job as I’ve said throughout the whole Test series. I’ve got a new respect for umpiring, particularly in Test cricket because it’s a hard job.”

When asked what he could do about the repititive blunders, he smartly quipped that he would enrol into an “umpiring school” when he returns home to Australia.
