Twitter reacts to ‘bowling all-rounder’ Vijay Shankar conceding 10 runs off 1 ball to inflict self-embarrassment

Not every team is Pakistan and not every batsman is Imam, and Vijay Shankar, in SRH’s opener vs RCB on Monday, realized the same. After striking off his first ball in the World Cup versus Pakistan, the ‘all-rounder’, today, bowled back-to-back no-balls to embarrassingly concede 10 runs off one ball.

It was only a few days ago that Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar spoke about not paying attention to critics, and well, after his shocking showing with the ball in his very first over of IPL 2020, you’d wonder it would be wise of him to not log into Twitter, for there will be plenty of trolls waiting to humiliate him.

After Mitchell Marsh walked off the field mid-way through the fifth over of RCB’s innings after twisting his ankle, SRH skipper David Warner summoned Shankar to complete the over for the side. Shankar, of course, is known to have a ‘golden arm’ and fans were witness to the same in India’s encounter versus Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup where he struck off his very first ball to send Imam-ul-Haq packing. However, at the Dubai international stadium on Monday, the all-rounder had little but no luck on his side.

Trundling in to bowl to Aaron Finch, who was struggling perennially, having scored just two runs off his first five balls, the Tamil Nadu man, much to his team’s horror, overstepped on his very first delivery. Finch dispatched the subsequent free-hit for a monstrous six over mid-wicket, but as if this wasn’t bad enough already, Shankar, flabbergastingly, overstepped yet again, on the free-hit. Thankfully, he managed to keep the Aussie limited-overs skipper quiet on the second free hit, but after Finch turned the strike over to Padikkal, Shankar bowled a wide down the leg-side to concede 10 runs off one legal delivery.

Well, that’s some way to start your IPL campaign. No wonder captains don’t trust Shankar enough with the ball.

Rayudu must be watching it with 3D glasses on him!

Such a poor start from 3D star.

Hahaha! LOL

1 ball 10runs is gift to RCB :|

:D :D :D :D

Even Chahal could hit six during practise match!
