Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah feature in Wisden’s five ‘Cricketers of the Year’

Wisden has rewarded Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah for their performance last year including them in five players in their ‘Cricketers of the Year’ section. England’s Joe Root has been named leading cricketer in the world while Lizelle Lee from South Africa has been named leading woman cricketer.

Wisden named ‘Cricketers of the Year’ in the 2022 edition of the Almanack and Rohit Sharma along with Jasprit Bumrah are included in the list. Apart from them, New Zealand batter Devon Conway, Ollie Robinson, and South Africa’s women star cricketer Dane van Niekerk. Joe Root has been named as a leading cricketer in the world while Lizelle Lee has been awarded the title of leading woman cricketer for her terrific exploits in international cricket last year. Pakistan’s batter-wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has been named as the leading T20 cricketer in the world. 

Rohit enjoyed an exception summer while opening the innings and scored 368 runs in four Tests at 52.57. Root was rewarded for amassing 1708 Test runs in the recent calendar year, the third-most in history. Lee was named the leading woman cricketer as a result of averaging 90.28 in 2021. He was brilliant in the series against India scoring 288 runs from four innings. Rizwan was awarded for his exploits in T20 cricket scoring 1329 runs at 72.88 in 27 T20s studded with a century and 11 fifties.
