Australia managed to defeat Sri Lanka in the first T20I of the series on the back of some brilliant bowling from Josh Hazelwood. Australian captain Aaron Finch was all praise for the fast bowlers and felt that it was difficult for batters to hit Hazelwood because of the lengths he was bowling.

Australia defeated Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the first T20I of the series to take the lead. While chasing, David Warner looked in terrific form as he smashed an unbeaten 70 to make sure his side won the game with ease against the hosts. In the first half of the game, Australian bowlers were spot on as they did not allow Sri Lanka to take the game away from them and kept taking wickets at regular intervals after a solid opening stand and dismissed them for 128.

Australian captain Aaron Finch was all praise for Josh Hazelwood who kept hitting the right lengths throughout the game to make sure Sri Lankan batters did not post a big total. "I think with the ball, when Josh Hazlewood is bowling such consistent lengths we know as batters how hard it is to face that. We wanted guys to take a risk playing the hardest shots against that length through the middle overs. We managed to get that. We managed to control the middle overs by getting wickets," Aaron Finch in the post-match presentation.

Finch also talked about his partnership with Warner and said, "It was nice to get a few runs and have a really good partnership with Davey."
