IPL 2022 | We didn't bat well, says Mayank Agarwal after game against Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 17 runs to hand them a defeat at the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. The match was a thrilling low scoring contest where Delhi Capitals batted first and scored 159/7 on the back of fifty from Mitchell Marsh. The Australian all-rounder scored 63 from 48 balls to make sure his side had a total with which they could fight. 

The Punjab Kings faltered in their chase and could not get going after getting a good start. They kept losing wickets which resulted in their defeat. PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal was disappointed with the loss and talked about how his team could have batted better during the game. "We didn't bat well. Between overs 5 and 10, we lost too many wickets and that's where we lost the game. I thought it was definitely chaseable for the batting we have and the wicket wasn't as bad as it seemed," Mayank Agarwal told host broadcasters Star Sports after the game.

"We just lost too many wickets between the 5th and 10th over and lost the game there," he said.

The Punjab Kings skipper wants his side to do well in their last league game as getting two points is crucial for them.

"It's still a match to be played and a match to be won. Two points are crucial for us. We want to go out there and play the best cricket. I think we haven't yet played our best cricket yet and we look forward to doing that in the last game.

"We need to speak about the way we went about things with the bat, but that's about it. It's a game to forget," Agarwal said.
