Jitesh Sharma fought hard to keep Punjab Kings in hunt against Delhi Capitals after they came to chase 160 on Monday, but the PBKS 'keeper did not last long enough. Jitesh departed after scoring 44 off 34 balls, courtesy of an excellent low catch by David Warner while diving forward in 18th over.

Chasing 160, Punjab Kings (PBKS) slipped from 53/1 to 67/6 against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday in Match 64 of IPL 2022 Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. None of their top-order batters lasted long in this crucial contest, where a place in the Playoffs is at stake. Coming at No. 6, Jitesh Sharma then gave PBKS some hope, while batting alongside Rahul Chahar.

Jitesh scored 44 off 34 balls to rescue PBKS from there, but it was not enough to take them past the finishing line. In the 18th over, Shardul Thakur bowled a knuckle ball outside off stump, which Jitesh wanted to play over long off. However, he did not get the connection right, and David Warner, who was there at long off, charged down the ground to complete an outstanding low diving catch. With that, PBKS' hopes to win the contest was almost ended. They were 131/9 at the end of 18 overs, with Rahul Chahar batting alongside Arshdeep Singh.
