When nothing goes your way, some extra yards can produce magic. Such was the case with Reece Topley who perfected a one-handed screamer to dismiss Rohit Sharma's onslaught as Mumbai Indians hurried for a 196-run chase against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Wankhede on Thursday.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru received an imposing challenge after losing a couple of wickets in Virat Kohli and Will Jacks inside the powerplay. However, the fifties from Faf du Plessis, Dinesh Karthik, and Rajat Patidar helped RCB stockpile 196 runs on the board in Mumbai. Unlike their counterparts, the host side posted a mammoth 101-run stand to keep MI in the chase but RCB did not shy away from putting effort with Reece Topley pulling off a screamer to remove Rohit.

With the game going away from RCB, Will Jacks was summoned to bowl on his IPL debut. On the second ball of the twelfth over, the bowler floated a fuller delivery around the fifth stump that Rohit tried to paddle it uppishly over short fine leg. However, Reece Topley, stationed there, swerved to his left in an attempt a catch and grasped the white rock by the cusp of his fingertips. He was acrobatic in his attempt with swift reflexes and managed to maintain poise, thereby ruling out the stereotypical concept of fast bowlers and poor fielding.

The Twitterverse applauded the excellent effort from the English bowler and took to social.

What a catch!

What a brilliant effort!

Beauty!

It surely does sense!

It should be rated on top!

The best!

That was some great catch!

Absolute stunner!

Agreed!

Hahaha!
