Banter on the cricket field is like seasoning on food - it enhances the experience but shouldn't overpower the main dish. A similar incident unfolded between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians when Rohit Sharma teased Dinesh Karthik for smacking the Mumbai bowlers at Wankhede.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, things worked in favour of the home side as they took two important wickets of Will Jacks and Virat Kohli within the powerplay. However, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar built a blazing 82-run stand cruising their side to 93/2 in 11 overs. Unfortunately, the Mumbai bowlers got back strong as they managed to tumble the Bengaluru middle order as they scalped Patidar and Glenn Maxwell. With Faf for beautiful 61 off 40 deliveries, all eyes were on Dinesh Karthik to steer RCB to a respectable total. The 38-year-old wicketkeeper smashed 14 runs off the 18th over and smacked 19 runs off the last over. Amidst, Karthik’s carnage, there came a hilarious moment between him and Rohit Sharma. The event occurred towards the tail end of the RCB's batting innings, as Karthik unleashed a barrage of hits against the Mumbai Indians bowlers, propelling his team toward the 200-run milestone.

As Karthik continued to slaught the Mumbai bowlers, Rohit fielding at the first slip slowly walked towards the batter and made a funny remark about Kathik’s World Cup selection. The Indian skipper told Karthik, “World cup khelna hai, world cup khelna hai” (you have to play the world cup), hinting his selection for the upcoming T20 world cup slated to be played from June 4th. 

The Twitterverse was quick to react to Rohit hilarious comment and took to social media to talk about it.
