KKR vs RR | Twitter in splits as Avesh taunts Sanju's snide remark after plucking one-handed stunner

There's nothing like healthy banter to build team chemistry, especially when it drives the players to go above and beyond expectations. After Sanju Samson chided Avesh Khan in Rajasthan Royals' previous encounter for a dropped catch, the pacer got back at his skipper with a blinder in Kolkata.

‌Rajasthan Royals capitalized on their decision to bowl first at the toss by keeping the dangerous pair of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine at bay early on despite dropping the former when on 0. Nevertheless, the visitors more than made up for the blunder by eventually getting rid of the Englishman in the fourth over through a catch for the ages that led to some hilarious on-field banter amongst the men in pink and purple.

With Salt struggling on 10 off 12 deliveries, Avesh banged in a short delivery midway through the fourth over provoking his counterpart to slap hard at the Kookaburra. However, the opener mistimed his attempt and instead of racing through midwicket, the white rock flew down the pitch to the left of Avesh. The right-arm quick did not miss a beat as in his follow through he outstretched his left hand and the ball somehow stuck in his palm, thus completing an incredulous catch. Avesh seemed to have surprised himself with the astounding grab and wasted no time in bragging to his skipper Sanju Samson as he pointed to him immediately after and said, "Mujhe catch pakadna aata hai (I know how to catch)".

The pacer was referencing their previous game against Punjab Kings where he had collided with Sanju while attempting to take a high catch, prompting the latter to light-heartedly state "I need to tell my fast bowlers that it is easier to catch with gloves", in the post match presentation. To top off the moment, Avesh ended up borrowing his skipper's glove and flaunting it to the Royals' dugout with the ball enclosed within, thus sending Twitterati into a frenzy.

Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 25 runs in an epic run fest in Bengaluru. The poor run continued for the hosts as even Dinesh Karthik's 35-ball 83 blitzkrieg wasn't enough to overhaul the 288-run target posted on the back of Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen carnage.
