One of the catchphrases used to define IPL is where talent meets opportunity. Among many exciting names, Vaibhav Arora of Kolkata Knight Riders gained the cricket universe’s attention after enforcing a dream delivery to dumbfound Delhi Capitals’ Shai Hope in the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The decision to bat first against KKR under humid conditions certainly seemed baffling and the home side proved it so with Vaibhav Arora and Mitchell Starc getting early breakthroughs. The third wicket of the innings was a jaffa that Arora would be proud of, having attained a bowler’s dream delivery to get rid of West Indies star Shai Hope.

On the third ball of the fourth over, Arora came over the wicket and dished an in-jagger that was pitched just outside the off stump line. Hope tried to dab at it but ended up playing it inside the line. Seeing the outside edge get beaten only to kiss the bail placed between the middle and off stump, the bowler leaped around in jubilation. For a moment, Hope seemed stunned by the seed and looked back at the timber before walking off the field.

The Twitterverse appreciated KKR’s change to bring Arora back in the squad and the Himachal Pradesh pacer’s jaffa attracted huge praise.
