‌BGT | Twitter chants ‘Viv Siraj Richards’ after rock-solid defence against steaming in Pat Cummins

Australia carried on with the momentum they received during the last half an hour of second day as they drew quick wickets of Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja in the morning session of the moving day. However, a massive 127-run eighth-wicket partnership between Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy helped India stabilise the stage. After drawing the outside edge of Bumrah on the third ball of the 115th over, Siraj had the task cut out to survive three deliveries as Nitish was unbridled on 99. The tailender narrowly escaped a similar delivery from Cummins on the next delivery before ducking underneath a bouncer. With one ball to survive, Siraj prodded forward and stonewalled an angling-in length delivery from the Aussie skipper on the last ball of the over. The fact that the pacer posed the defence after playing inside the line, the Twitterverse erupted in awe and labelled him ‘Viv Siraj Richards’.
