Pressure is a curious commodity and it rears its ugly head even in the most calm of situations. When Rishabh Pant advised Yashasvi Jaiswal to not take any risks while running between the wickets, he was stunned to see his partner midway on the pitch with the ball inside the inner circle.

India found themselves in a precarious situation when Virat Kohli was dismissed on the last ball of the first session with the scoreboard reading 33/3. However, Pant and Jaiswal set up shop to shut down any chances of a collapse as the duo blocked through an impressive Mitchell Starc spell. 

On the first ball of the 31st over, Jaiswal wanted a quick single but Pant was having none of it. He sent his partner back and then told him not to take any undue risks and voice out his calls loudly. And that was the end of it, at least as far as Pant was concerned. However, 12 balls later, India could have found themselves in some trouble. 

On the first ball of Boland’s next over, Pant played a good length ball towards backward point. What should have been just another ball in the Test turned interesting because Jaiswal, for reasons unknown, was halfway down the pitch. While nothing came out of it for Australia, Pant was quick to walk up to his partner to calm his nerves. 

Twitter sided with Pant on the issue and bombed social media with their opinions.
