ZIM vs IND | Twitter reacts as Raza has last laugh with searing yorker after Jaiswal pummels 13 off one ball

Battles between the bat and ball have never been as volatile as in the T20 era, with sixes galore and risk accepted as part and parcel of the game. Such mindsets led to an explosive start to Sunday's T20I after Yashasvi Jaiswal pounced upon Sikandar Raza but failed to contend with the response.

India endured a difficult powerplay with the bat after losing the toss for the first time in the series as Zimbabwe snared three wickets to leave them reeling at 44/3 after six overs. The scenario was quite a contrast to how the encounter started, with India taking the game by its scruff right from the first ball only to be pegged back heroically by the hosts.

Skipper Sikandar Raza took the ball in hand to kickstart the innings and committed the cardinal sin of overstepping straight away. To exacerbate his misery, the in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal went down on one knee and hoicked the full-toss over the mid-wicket fence. With a free-hit to follow, Jaiswal doubled down by this time opening up his stance and elegantly dispatching the spinner over his head for another massive six. The Zimbabwe skipper was visibly distraught, as the scorecard read a horrid 13/0 after just one ball. However, he got himself back into the contest with a couple of dot balls before delivering his coup de grace. Raza fired in a yorker to take the young Indian by a surprise and the Kookaburra pitched straight on the money around Jaiswal's legs. By the time he got his bat down, the leg stump lay flat on the ground and Raza was soaring in celebration.

Twitterati was enthralled by the eventful start to the match and wasted little time in reaction to the action.
