Winning the toss, South Africa opted to field first and the pacers backed it up brilliantly with Marco Jansen and Ottneil Baartman drawing early wickets. The introduction of Anrich Nortje in the bowling further rattled the Dutch unit with Aiden Markram’s magnificent run out to remove Scott Edwards serving as a cherry on the top. 

Following the fall of the fourth wicket, captain Edwards came to the rescue and smashed a six via a reverse lap to Nortje on the second ball of the twelfth over. In the immediate next delivery, Nortje bowled a good length delivery near the stumps that the right-hander nudged towards close-up of mid on where Markram steamed in with a quick direct hit at the non-striker’s end. While the Netherlands skipper hurried for a single, Markram beat him with agility and superb technique, as he dived and instantaneously jabbed the ball at the stumps, without even grasping the ball firmly.
