In the heart of every triumphant team lies an unbreakable bond, forged through unwavering camaraderie and a shared passion for victory. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan was seen pranking his teammate, Fazalhaq Farooqi during the post-match interview after a thumping victory against PNG.

Riding on the back of consecutive victories against New Zealand and Uganda, Afghanistan bowlers Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq wreaked havoc in the opposition batting order, thereon bundling them for paltry 95 with the former claiming a three-fer. In reply, Gulbadin Naib’s blistering 36-ball 49 helped them chase down the total and book a Super Eight spot. Earning his second Player of the Match award in three matches, Fazalhaq Farooqi’s post-match interview was gatecrashed by a familiar ally that left the cricket universe buzzing.

Following his new ball antics to draw the outside edge of Lega Siaka and Sese Bau off a length ball for golden ducks, Farooqi outwitted Alei Nao with a bouncer in the 19th over to claim his three-fer. After a fifer and a four-for against Uganda and New Zealand, the left-arm pacer’s three-wicket haul helped the Atalans gush into the Super Eight stage, thereby, earning him the Player of the Match. His success was thoroughly enjoyed by skipper Rashid who chose to hide behind the camera person and distract him. Seeing that, Fazalhaq asked his captain to “shut up” before clearing out that Rashid was actually, trying to make him laugh amidst the post-match conversation.

The incident was the epitome of the great camaraderie the two teammates enjoy, and the Twitterverse soulfully enjoyed it.
