One of the beautiful aspects of the big stage is the intense competition one gets to witness between individuals. In a clash of the hosts, Aaron Jones slammed a huge rooftop six against Alzari Joseph as  West Indies and USA squared off in their second Super Eight match in Barbados.

On the back of a loss against England in their first Super Eight clash, West Indies headed for a must-win clash against co-hosts USA in the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown. Winning the toss and opting to field first, the Men in Maroon earned their first breakthrough in the second over when Andre Russell outwitted Steven Taylor. However, the pair of Andries Gous and Nitish Kumar counterpunched the opposition with Aaron Jones joining them after the latter’s dismissal in the seventh over. In a fierce contest of bat and ball, the USA captain bashed the tall pacer for a gargantuan six, leaving Joseph clueless.

Following a couple of 140 kph clicks delivery, Joseph upped his pace by 5 kph to dish a short ball banged into the pitch against Jones. The ball sat up nicely for the right-handed batter who pulled it over the deep square leg region for a gigantic six. The connection off the ball off the willow was so neat that the white rock swirled high and handsome before landing at the top of the roof. Joseph was seen clearly unhappy with it as the replays showed 101 metre biggie, sparking the Twitterverse abuzz.
