Fielding and Pakistan don’t go hand in hand in the realm of cricket. The Asian nation is known for its fielding disasters and Babar Azam proved it once again during the second T20I against Australia by putting down a dolly, leaving the bowler furious at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Australia put up 40 runs in a couple of overs before Haris Rauf silenced Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matt Short in the fourth over. Soon, the momentum shifted with the visitors as Sufiyan Muqeem and Abbas Afridi complemented Rauf’s hard work in the middle overs by not letting the Aussies settle in the middle. Having already lost half their wickets, Tim David walked out in the middle with Aaron Hardie but failed to glitter, albeit the former was lucky for a dropped catch from Babar in the 15th over.

On the second ball of the 15th over, Rauf bowled on a length outside the stumps to David who middled an across the line slog flat. The ball wooshed straight towards mid wicket where Babar was stationed and the former Pakistan captain happened to miss out on the opportunity. The white rock thudded Babar’s palm before popping out to the ground, leaving the bowler furious. This was one of the seven catches dropped in the first innings, with many coming off Rauf’s bowling. The Twitterverse certainly felt for Rauf as the outburst was a result of the catching mishaps.
