Frustration can set in when things don’t go your way, often leading to heated player exchanges. Such was the case during the final session of Day 3 in Perth, where Pat Cummins and Virat Kohli found themselves locked in an intense staredown amidst Australia’s desperation for wickets.

‌Australia found themselves in the backfoot as Indians dominated the batting and rode on the back of Yasashvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul’s 201 partnership. Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal forged a 74-run partnership, extending India’s lead beyond 300 as Jaiswal reached a brilliant century off 205 balls. However, Australia fought back after tea, dismissing Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel in quick succession. With India’s lead swelling to 450, Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar steadied the innings, looking comfortable at the crease. The session turned intense when frustration boiled over, leading to a heated moment between Kohli and Pat Cummins.

Virat Kohli was in excellent form, scoring a fluent 50 off 94 balls as India’s lead continued to grow. Washington Sundar, too, played with flair, providing solid support in a promising partnership. Despite the pitch showing low bounce and the ball barely moving, the cracks offered some assistance to the spinners, though the duo excelled in their running between the wickets. As Kohli’s innings gained momentum, Pat Cummins’ frustration began to show, leading to an intense staredown between the two. Kohli, unfazed, exchanged a fierce gaze, escalating the tension, which quickly became a hot topic on social media, fueling the ongoing India-Australia rivalry.
