Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the top of the ICC Test Bowler rankings. This feat follows his outstanding display against Bangladesh in Kanpur, where he took six wickets and his performance has elevated him above fellow teammate Ravichandran Ashwin, reclaiming the coveted spot.

‌In the latest ICC rankings, Jasprit Bumrah has overtaken Ravichandran Ashwin to become the number one Test bowler with 870 points. Ashwin, who claimed five wickets in the same match, trails Bumrah by just one point. This is the second time Bumrah has claimed the top spot in his career. Ashwin had previously displaced him from the position, but Bumrah has now reclaimed it.

In addition, Virat Kohli surged back into the top 10 Test batters rankings after a stellar performance in the second Test. He jumped six places to secure the sixth spot. Meanwhile, left-hander Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s leading run-scorer in the current WTC cycle, climbed two spots to reach third. Rishabh Pant dropped three spots, landing in ninth place in the latest rankings for Test batters.

Ravindra Jadeja continues to dominate the Test all-rounder rankings, holding firm at the top. Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan moved up two places, securing fifth position on this list.

Sri Lankan spinner Prabath Jayasuriya achieved a career-best ranking, rising one spot to share the seventh place in the Test bowling ranks after taking 18 wickets and earning Player of the Series honours against New Zealand. Fellow Sri Lankan, right-hander Kamindu Mendis, also saw a significant rise, moving up five places to 11th with a career-high rating, following his century in the second Test of the New Zealand series.
