Home is our greatest support, a place where we find strength and unwavering love no matter the challenges we face. Local lad Ravichandran Ashwin felt the same as he stitched an important knock highlighted by a six against Shakib Al Hasan in the third session on the first day in Chennai.

Being put to bat first against the will under overcast Chennai conditions, the Indian top order failed to deliver against the Bangladesh pacers. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli were removed thick and fast in the first session before Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal rebuilt the innings with a 62-run fourth wicket stand. Although a 48-run stand followed, a couple of wickets midway through the second session curtailed India to 144/6 and brought the tourists back into the game. Unfettered by the setbacks, Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja counterattacked the opposition with a six against Shakib being the talk of the town.

Almost ten overs after the fall of the sixth wicket, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto summoned Shakib Al Hasan against the Indian all-round duo. He was greeted with a four on the first ball by Jadeja before a single changed the strike and brought Ashwin into play. The local guy bent forward to slog a fuller delivery from around the wicket at the stumps and sent the white rock over the ropes for a six over deep mid wicket. Seeing the 37-year-old flourish against the Bangladeshi veteran on the first ball he faced, the Twitterverse could not shy away from appreciating him.

Enthusiasm is crucial in cricket but must be managed carefully to avoid potential mishaps. A prime example was seen in the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai, where Hasan Mahmud's exuberant celebration resulted in a collision with Ravindra Jadeja during an LBW appeal.
