Batting on 41, Brook defended the first ball of the 48th over knowing he had to farm the strike and protect Josh Tongue at the other end. With singles thus no longer a viable option, Brook went down on one knee early as Siraj steamed in with his follow-up and with one swift flick of the wrists, smashed the Dukes from in front of middle stump over fine leg's head for a stunning maximum. Brook could not help but boast a cheeky grin as he realized what he had just pulled off, while Ben Stokes sitting on the balcony whistled in disbelief at the sheer audacity of the shot.
