Most cricket fanatics love to witness high-scoring encounters with plenty of shots soaring around the park in the night sky. The low-scoring match between the Gujarat Giants and the UP Warriorz didn’t quite help the fans before Deandra Dottin flexed her Calypso power at the Kotambi Stadium.

The idea to field first worked well with the Gujarat Giants bowlers coming to the party inside the powerplay. Despite being pushed to 22/2 by the first 16 balls of the innings, Deepti Sharma and Uma Chetry’s 51-balls stand stabilized the stage before a collapse followed suit. However, some late blitz from the tail helped them get 143 runs on the board. Similar to their counterparts, the hosts incurred significant setbacks before Ashleigh Gardner’s fifty made way for a destructive six for Calypso power in the 13th over.

On the third ball of the 13th over, Alana King bowled a length delivery outside the stumps that Dottin heaved in front of the square with disdain. The West Indies all-rounder cleared the front leg and clobbered a juicy six over the deep mid-wicket region against one of the best wrist spinners. As the replays reflected a 84-meter hit, the Twitterverse, who were bored by the defensive approach, felt a bit charged up.
