Rivalry clashes are important for any sport as they keep the audience and passion for the game alive. As India squared off against Pakistan in the ensuing 2025 Champions Trophy, a split-second moment between Mohammad Rizwan and Harshit Rana caught the attention during the second powerplay.

Losing their second toss on a trot in the 2025 Champions Trophy, India was put in to field first by Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan. Following a steady start from openers – Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq – the co-hosts lost a couple of wickets at the cue end of the first powerplay. Subsequently, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan steadied the ship and kept the scoreboard ticking amidst plenty of dot balls. Just when the run rate pressure seemed to creep up, the duo hurried for runs that attracted a shoulder barge moment between Rizwan and Harshit.

After conceding a couple of runs in the first five balls of the 21st over, Harshit bowled a back of a length delivery outside the stumps that the right-hander pulled towards deep mid-wicket for a single. In the process for a run, Rizwan, who was ball-watching, shoulder barged the bowler. Harshit, who was taking a pause after the followthrough, didn’t see that coming from the opposition captain and seemed displeased with the thud,  fueling passionate discourse in the Twitterverse.
