Staying calm and composed is crucial in a game, as unnecessary antics can escalate into a heated exchange. This was evident on the first day of the final Test, where Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah had a fiery confrontation with Sam Konstas over his furious behaviour amidst Australia’s batting.

‌It was Australia’s day at the Sydney Cricket Ground with the ball, as Scott Boland led their attack with a brilliant four-wicket haul, dismantling India’s middle and lower order. India were all out for just 185 runs. Rishabh Pant’s resilient 40 and Jasprit Bumrah’s quickfire 22 off 17 balls helped India push their total, but Boland and Mitchell Starc's pace and bounce put the Indian batters on the backfoot. In reply, Australia’s openers, Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja, started cautiously, scoring 9/0 in the first two overs. However, tensions flared when a heated exchange erupted between Bumrah and Konstas.

It began in the third over when Bumrah was prepared to bowl the fourth delivery and grew frustrated with Khawaja’s slow stance. He urged Khawaja to hurry up as Konstas overheard the interaction and intervened with a remark directed at Bumrah. The Indian captain quickly snapped back, clarifying that his words were aimed at Khawaja. The umpire stepped in to quell the confrontation as Bumrah was ready to bowl.

The drama didn’t end there. On the very next delivery, Bumrah delivered a full ball outside off stump, which Khawaja attempted to defend. Unfortunately for him, he edged it and the ball was safely taken by KL Rahul at second slip. As Rahul took the catch, Bumrah turned towards Konstas, offering him a fiery glare. Twitter quickly lit up with excitement, as fans eagerly discussed the heated exchange between the two players.

Admiring your idol is admirable, but a few dismissals can invite tough comparisons. Such was the story of Nitish Kumar Reddy on the opening day of the last BGT Test at Sydney, where he fell for a golden duck in a manner eerily reminiscent of Virat Kohli's unfortunate dismissal at Adelaide.
