Ayush Mhatre, the rising star of Chennai Super Kings, has made it to the headlines yet again. At such a young age, he has already impressed the fans with his brilliant batting performances. As a top order batter, he is able to bash the ball well in the initial overs which sets the tone for the middle order.
With this batting style, it was clear to the fans that his idol would be Rohit Sharma. Mhatre has been idolising the Hitman for a long time and recently he also talked about his first meeting with him.
He said,“I met Rohit Sharma for the first time after a Mumbai Indians game. Shivam was also there, He told me to call him whenever I wanted to talk and the best part was, he genuinely meant it, before my England tour, I messaged him saying I wanted to meet. Instead of just replying, he called me directly. I told him I live in Virar and was ready to come from that far just to meet him. He was very humble about it and even suggested that we could do a video call so I wouldn’t have to travel that much but I wanted to meet him personally, so he shared his address and asked me to come. The next day, I went to his house and spoke to him for 2 hours. My idol gave me so much time, it felt like a dream. I honestly don’t know how those two hours passed. It was just a great time.”
