Did CSK Make a Mistake? Former Players Shine Elsewhere in IPL 2026

Chennai Super Kings made a few changes to their squad right before the auction. This also meant a few releases, giving opportunities to the other teams to get their players. And this has turned out to be a huge blunder for the team, as the former stars dominate this season.

‌It has been a hard time for the CSK fans and team this season, as they stand at the bottom of the table after two games. The team made a few changes to their squad with the help of an auction, and this eventually meant them making a few releases before the same.
One of the players released by the team was Sameer Rizvi. He was eventually bought by the Delhi Capitals and has now turned into a certified match-winner for them. In two games only, Rizvi has scored 160 runs for the team and won the POTM award in both matches.

On the other hand, there is a key bowler released by CSK last season, who is Tushar Deshpande. He plays for the Rajasthan Royals this season and gave his best for the team in the last game against GT. In that game, he defended well in the death overs for the team and finished with a wicket at an economy of 8 in 3 overs.

Our Take

While the Chennai Super Kings failed to secure wins at the start of the season, the other players who were once a part of the team are now showing what they have lost. Chennai Super Kings will be playing its third game of the season against Royal Challengers Bengaluru tonight, in search of its first win.
But it would definitely be challenging for them to a great extent. Still, Sameer Rizvi and Tushar Deshpande seem to have found their rhythm for the new teams as they continue to shine in the current season.
