PAK vs NED | Twitter in splits as Kyle Klein channels inner John Cena to mock Pakistan's disappearing act

No one does heartbreaks like Pakistan, their choking tendencies in big events frequent enough at this point to make them feel predictable. The T20 World Cup opener was no different, as Pakistan dragged a won game against the Dutch all the way to the wire and Kyle Klein made sure to let them know.

A late collapse for Netherlands in the opening game of the 2026 T20 World Cup saw them bowled out for a subpar 147 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Saturday. An blitzing half-century from Sahibzada Farhan further hammered down the European contingent and after 11 overs, the Men in Green found themselves needing just 50 with eight wickets in hand. However, Paul van Meekeren served them a reminder that the game was still alive with a double wicket maiden before Roelof van der Werme dispatched Babar Azam to leave them reeling at 102/5. Nevertheless, two experienced batters in Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz remained, the duo beginning to stitch a composed stand to steer their team clearn. But Kyle Klein had other ideas.

Klein took the ball in hand for his third effort in the 16th over and piled on the pressure on Pakistan with tight lines and lengths, giving away just three runs away in the first five deliveries. Nawaz felt the pump tightening as he struggled on six off 13, and eventually broke with a wild heave off the final ball against a slower short one. All he could manage was the top edge and the Kookaburra soared high in the air, with skipper wicket-keeper Scott Edwards bagging the simplest of catches to send the all-rounder packing. Klein was ecstatic, well aware he had given his team a real peek at victory, and brought out John Cena's trademark 'You Can't See Me' celebration as fervently waved his hand across his face to rub salt on the Men in Green's wounds.

Twitterati could not be more thrilled.

You can't see me!

Lol!

Classic Pakistan
