Sahibzada Farhan has come across as a powerful hitter in T20s and that was on display in the World Cup Super-Eight contest against England. The Pakistan opener’s brutal slog sweep off spinner Will Jacks over the mid-wicket fence saw the ball travel 100 metres and almost out of the ground.

‌England became the first team to progress to the semifinal of the 2026 T20 World Cup with a thrilling two-wicket win over Pakistan in Pallekele on Tuesday. Skipper Harry Brook led the 165-run chase with a blistering 51-ball 100, which included four sixes and 10 fours, as England went past the finish line with five balls to spare.

However, Pakistan fought valiantly and pushed England to the wall before Brook’s century proved the difference in a tense encounter. The Men in Green were, first, guided to a challenging total of 164/9, courtesy of Sahibzada Farhan’s third fifty-plus knock in five innings. Then left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi ran through the England top order, en route to registering four-wicket haul, to reduce them to 35/3 inside five overs.

Though Farhan had seven fours and two sixes during his 45-ball 63, the monstrous hit off Will Jacks over mid-wicket caught the eye. With the off-spinner conceding 11 runs in his first over and the Asian outfit looking for a move on at 91/3 after the 13th over, the opener decided to take him on after partner Fakhar Zaman greeted him with a six in the first ball of his second.

As Jacks tried to flatten the trajectory of the ball with a good length delivery outside off stump, a premeditated Farhan had already cleared his front foot and on his way to the knee. A powerful bat swing followed as the ball made impressive contact before flying past the mid-wicket fence. The sound off the bat was sweet too as the 100-metre monster left Jacks stunned before ending up hitting the boundary wall of the grass banks.

Stunning hit!
