Ishan Kishan lived up to his name of pocket rocket during the second T20I against New Zealand in Raipur on Friday. The Indian batter was going all guns in the run chase before launching his bat after playing a shot to force fielders and umpire to take evasive action before it landed safely.

‌New Zealand put on a decent batting performance after being sent in by India on a good batting surface in the second T20I in Raipur on Friday. Rachin Ravindra and Mitchell Santner led a collective batting display to power the Kiwis to 208/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

In return, the home side had a nightmarish start, losing both openers inside two overs with the score reading just six runs. But the Men in Blue found a new hero in Ishan Kishan, who got going quickly with three fours and a six in Zak Foulkes’ 24-run first over.

The southpaw was in the mood, hitting consecutive boundaries off Jacob Duffy in the next before hilariously reminding of Rishabh Pant with a wild swing of the bat. With the pacers going for runs aplenty, captain Santner brought himself in as early as the fifth over.

The left-arm spinner, in an attempt to keep the blistering Kishan silent, bowled a short of a length delivery at the stumps. The southpaw lined himself up for another wild slog, and the force of the shot took the bat away from his hand.

The ball went to the square leg fielder, and the bat went high up before making its landfall near mid wicket area. A Kiwi fielder helped him out with the bat before he corrected his radar for three boundaries in the over.

Twitter was in splits as Kishan proved why he was the pocket rocket, launching one high and reminding the cricketing world of Rishabh Pant.
