The Indian team has made a change to its T20I squad for the next two series. Mohammed Siraj has been advised to withdraw his name for the series against Ireland and England. He has been replaced in the team by Prasidh Krishna.
The Indian team is having a packed schedule in the coming weeks. And to manage the workload of its senior and experienced players, the management has decided to make another change to the squad. Mohammed Siraj has been advised to withdraw his name from the T20I series against Ireland and England.
He has been advised to do so, in order to manage his workload. India will also be going against England in a three match ODI series, which will be followed by Test matches against Sri Lanka. With a tight schedule, it is necessary for the Indian team to have a player like Siraj fit.
Mohammed Siraj has been replaced by Prasidh Krishna for the T20I series against Ireland and England both. With his raw pace and sheer bounce, he would be able to make his name in the T20I side with these two series. Moreover, he was able to produce a fine season in the IPL, with Gujarat Titans.
Our Take
The Indian team will be really missing out on the availability of Mohammed Siraj for the T20I series against Ireland and England. While Prasidh Krishna is known for taking wickets, he will not be able to add the depth and experience like that of Siraj. And at the same time, the BCCI would want Siraj to be fit and fine, as he has been the most active bowler for the Indian team across all formats.
