Twitter Celebrates Ruturaj Gaikwads Return to Form Against Sri Lanka A
India A have started the tour of Sri Lanka with the first one day game today. When the Indian openers failed to score runs, Ruturaj Gaikwad stepped in to save the day. He went on to score another List A century, showing that he is back in form.
Every player has a format where they're known to dominate, and for Ruturaj Gaikwad, it is the 50 over format. He made his return to this format with the tri-series against Afghanistan A and Sri Lanka A, as the first match took place today. India A was batting first, as the openers, Prabhsimran Singh and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lost their wickets quickly.
But Ruturaj Gaikwad quickly came to resurrect the team's innings and led them to a competitive total. He went on to score 101 runs off 114 balls, on a pitch where it gets challenging to bat as the game progresses. He was supported by Priyansh Arya (32) and the skipper Tilak Varma (60), as India A was able to post a total of 277 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
This century shows that Gaikwad has been one of the most consistent players in the 50 over format. In his List A career, he is now having 21 centuries and 19 half-centuries in just 96 innings.
Here's how Twitter has reacted to his comeback.

Whenever it comes to List A cricket, Gaikwad literally turns out to be Munna Bhaiya. As of now, it is Gaikwad who is ruling for the team in this format.
Words!
Everyone can hit the ball, but not everyone can save the innings. When the team needed someone to stand tall, Ruturaj stepped up once again. A true saviour at the crease. 💯🔥 pic.twitter.com/0rFTlQqKxk

A Twitter user perfectly defined how Gaikwad has been a star player in this format. Everyone can hit the ball with the bat but only a few of them have the capability to protect the innings.
