The CEO of Royal Challengers Bengaluru has talked about Virat Kohli's future. Kohli has retired from Tests and T20Is, yet he continues to play for RCB in the IPL. Rajesh Menon remains positive that Kohli will be playing 3-4 more IPL seasons.

Virat Kohli is only seen in action in ODIs for the Indian cricket team and in IPL for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He had chosen to retire from T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, following which he has only played the IPL. And with Kohli aged 37, it is still unclear how many seasons he will be playing more for the team.

Fans have also been scared of his posts over a while, as he has announced sudden retirements. His Test retirement still haunts the fans, as it came out of nowhere, when everyone was expecting him to hit tons against England. Recently, the RCB CEO, Rajesh Menon, was present in an interview, where questions related to Virat Kohli's IPL future were asked.

He responded to them by saying, “RCB and Virat are different sides of the same coin. He’s been the consistent factor for RCB throughout. We've not seen him not being a part of RCB even if he moves out of his cricketing career. We've to figure out that. That said, next three to four years, I'm sure he'll be playing for at least four years.”

Our Take

RCB CEO, Rajesh Menon, remains optimistic that Kohli will be playing for the team in the next three to four seasons. RCB has been on a dominant run in the IPL right now, being the third team, after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, which had won consecutive titles. And Kohli has been the key reason behind the same, as he was the top scorer in both seasons for the team.
