Auqib Nabi was given a chance to play for India A team against Sri Lanka A. And in this game, while the Indian batsmen dominated, Nabi took the charge with the ball. Continuing his red hot form, he went on to take 4 wickets for the team in the second innings of the game.

Auqib Nabi is leaving no stones unturned when it comes to his bowling skills. He was already dominant for Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy, helping them to win their first Ranji title. Following this, he was expected to be selected for the Indian team in the one off Test against Afghanistan.

But he was not able to make it to the main team. Instead, he got an opportunity to showcase his skills in the unofficial Test series against Sri Lanka A. The conditions which are generally known to favour the spinners turned out to be an area of dominance for a pacer like Auqib Nabi.

The Indian batsmen were able to dominate and post a strong total in the first innings. When Sri Lanka A stepped out to bat, their batters had no answers to Auqib Nabi Dar. He went on to take 4 wickets for the team in just 19.4 overs, where he conceded just 58 runs.

Our Take

Auqib Nabi is still in his red hot form in the longest format of the game. He is repeatedly knocking on the doors of the Indian selectors, who are already looking for lethal bowlers for the team. If Nabi continues his stellar form in the unofficial Test series against Sri Lanka A, there are high chances that he will be able to make it to the Indian team against Sri Lanka next month.
