Mark Wood Reveals Untold Private Jet Experience During IPL
Mark Wood is not a part of the current IPL season but he still can't get over his previous memories. Recently in a podcast, he shared one of his most memorable IPL experiences. He was offered to play a game in fever, and fly back home via a private jet after the match ends.
The Indian Premier League is often known for providing players with a unique experience. There surely are various T20 leagues where they could show their skills and dominate, but the level achieved by IPL remains different. Players come up to tell their stories, which made the tournament unforgettable for them.
Mark Wood, former LSG pacer, talked about his best experience in the IPL. He didn't reveal the name of the owner, but said that during his stint in the IPL, he was suffering from fever. It was so high that he couldn't even stand up on his feet, and eventually said that he isn't fit to play for the team.
The team owner called him the next day and offered him to play, as after the match he would be given a private jet to fly back to England. Wood discussed this with his father also, but he was still not ready to play due to the fever. However, he was also given special attention in this case, as three doctors were booked to visit his room frequently and check if he needed anything.
Our Take
Mark Wood’s experience in the IPL has been short but it has been worth it. He would still be thinking about the private jet order but ultimately he had to decline it due to the fever. The way he told his dad that it is a private jet which is being offered to him showed his excitement. It is also being rumoured that the owner about whom Wood talked could be Sanjiv Goenka, as he recently played for LSG.
