The venues for IPL playoffs including the finals are yet to be decided. Chinnaswamy Stadium was one of the options for the BCCI to host the final but it also faces issues. With MLA tickets problem pertaining, it remains to be seen whether it will be solved before the schedule gets released or not.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were able to win the IPL last season, which made Chinnaswamy Stadium one of the options to host the IPL final. The venues for the playoffs and finals were yet to be decided by the BCCI, but it was almost confirmed that Chinnaswamy Stadium would be one of the key contenders for the same. Now the plans for the BCCI are looking at a possible change.

And it is due to the common issue which they have faced at this venue, not related to the safety or stampede which took place. It is related to the MLA tickets, which has caused chaos in the five games played at this venue. Reports claim that the Karnataka MLAs demand to get complimentary VIP tickets in the matches to be played here.

They took 3 VIP tickets per legislator, which caused a number of issues to the BCCI. As per reports, this has been the major reason why BCCI might shift the final match to a different venue. If a middle ground is achieved by the Karnataka government and BCCI, the finals will be taking place at this venue only.

Our Take

The uncertainties around the M Chinnaswamy Stadium keep on rising every now and then. Fans would definitely love to have the final match being played at this venue, which will happen nearly after a decade. But for that to happen, it is also necessary for the MLAs of Karnataka and the BCCI to come to a middle ground.
