Virat Kohli is known as the chase master, who could chase down any target with ease. But there has been one rare IPL game, where even the chase master failed. Even after batting from the start till the end, he was not able to chase down the total against Mumbai Indians in 2018.

Whenever someone talks about Virat Kohli, we all have the word Chase Master in our minds. He has chased down so many big scores for the Indian team which has helped India to avoid several embarrassing defeats. Whether it is the T20I or ODI format, his style of chasing has always been calculated. 

But in the IPL, there has been one rare game where Virat Kohli could not bring up his chase master game. It happened when Royal Challengers Bengaluru went against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2018 season.

Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced each other at the Wankhede Stadium in the IPL 2018 season. RCB had a strong start in this game, where Umesh Yadav took 2 wickets on the first two balls. This was followed by an onslaught by Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis. 

Rohit Sharma went on to score 94 runs off 52 balls as Evin Lewis scored in the 60s, which helped Mumbai Indians to post a massive total of 213 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Virat Kohli stepped out to open with Quinton de Kock and he stayed till the end for his team.

Mumbai Indians were able to take wickets consecutively in this game but they could not manage to bring down Virat Kohli. As wickets fell down on one end, Kohli always stood tall in the other and ultimately, the chase went out of hands. RCB finished scoring 167 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, as Virat Kohli alone scored 92 runs off 62 balls in this game, just missing out on his century.
