The clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians has affected the qualification race to a great extent. Two teams have been eliminated from the tournament. On the other hand, still no team has made it to the playoffs officially, as the race heats up.

The Indian Premier League is about to get more exciting for the fans in the upcoming games. With RCB winning over Mumbai Indians, the playoffs race has heated up to a great extent. After the RCB vs MI clash, three teams stand at the top with the same number of points, as they have almost made it to the playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad are having a tight race. All these teams will have to win one more game out of their three remaining matches to make it to the playoffs. RCB is having advantage with its net run rate, which could help them to a great extent.

At the same time, there are three teams which still remain in the playoffs race. Punjab Kings will have to win two out of their remaining four games to make it to the playoffs again. Along with that, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals also need two more wins in their remaining three games if they want to make it to the playoffs. KKR stands close in this race, as they would have to win all of their remaining four games.

Note: It is estimated that 16 points could guarantee a spot in the playoffs.

Our Take

The teams standing in the top three would be having an easy time as they prepare for the remaining matches. On the other hand, things will be slightly challenging for teams such as Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. A small mistake in one game could make it challenging for them to make it to the playoffs.
