Hanuma Vihari found himself in the middle of a controversy in the clash between SRH and GT. During the game, SRH’s batting line-up was not able to do well, as Vihari said that they only know how to bat on flat tracks. Recently, he clarified his statement against the team in a video.

The clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans turned out to be the most amazing. When everyone thought that Gujarat had posted a total low enough for SRH to chase in 10 overs, something unimaginable happened. SRH suffered with a batting collapse in that game, and they registered just 86 runs before being all out.

During the game, Hanuma Vihari was also present in the commentary box, where he said something about the batting order of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He said that Hyderabad is mainly dependent on the flat track to score runs, and this statement received a lot of backlash from the fans. For a long time, he remained silent on this matter and didn't say much.

But recently, he talked about this matter in a YouTube video. Vihari said, “I have no favourite team in the IPL, it's just business for me. You ask Telugu people to support your team, yet you abuse a Telugu international player. Is this your culture?”

Our Take

The statement given by Hanuma Vihari has received mixed reactions from the fans all over the internet. Surely SRH struggled to do well since the pitch was a lot different from the other IPL pitches. Hanuma Vihari made the statements upon assessing the team's batting performances according to his knowledge. He definitely wouldn't have expected that it would turn out to be a controversy, where fans targeted him to a huge extent.
