What Punjab Kings Need to Do to Qualify for the IPL Playoffs?
For Punjab Kings to qualify for the Playoffs, they have to beat the Lucknow Super Giants and have to expect that Mumbai Indians defeats the Rajasthan Royals while Delhi Capitals defeats the Kolkata Knight Riders and the win margin should not be much.
The calculators are now out for the Punjab Kings and their fans as the League stage is about to end and they will be looking to qualify for the Playoffs now. Currently at the 5th position in the points table, they have 6 wins, 6 losses from the 13 matches played and are at 13 points with a net run rate of +0.227. They are scheduled to play against Lucknow Super Giants on 23rd May 2026.
Coming to the qualification scenario, they have to beat the Lucknow Super Giants by more than 10 runs and also expect that Mumbai Indians wins against the Rajasthan Royals while Delhi Capitals defeats the Kolkata Knight Riders. If all the three scenarios come up, then only Punjab Kings have a chance to enter the top four of the tournament now.
