Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero says he is relishing life under Pep Guardiola and credited the Catalan's tactical nous for his increased freedom on the pitch. The Argentine also hailed ex-Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard as his favourite among all-time top scorers in Premier League history.

"He (Guardiola) wants me right as a nine, but then he gives me more freedom too. He asks me to move all around the attack," Aguero told Argentine newspaper Ole.

The former Atletico Madrid striker made a stunning start to the 2016-17 season, scoring 11 goals in eight appearances for City, and revealed  that he feels good adapting to the system put in place by Guardiola.

"Pep is very picky about everything," Aguero said. "It's good. The good thing is that I'm getting used to him and automatically going straight in to pressing the centre-backs."

Asked about his favourite Premier League scorer, Aguero, while praising the likes of Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and Thierry Henry, picked  Lampard as his all-time favourite.

“But as my personal favourite, I’d like to choose Frank Lampard, who in spite of not being necessarily a striker, stands among the top 10 goal-scorers. That deserves praise,” the Argentine said.

Lampard, currently fourth in the all-time Premier League scorers list with 177 strikes, had a brief spell at Manchester City in 2015 after being loaned out by NewYork City FC.

Aguero termed it as a great experience playing alongside the 38-year old. “I had the chance to play alongside him and it was a valuable experience. He’s every inch a professional and a man you can respect,"Aguero said.
