With the arrival of Philippe Coutinho on a season-long loan spell, Bayern Munich are no longer interested in acquiring Juventus star Emre Can. Adding creativity and a midfield punch was Niko Kovac's top consideration, with the German was at the top of his list to fill a glaring gap in midfield.

Maurizio Sarri is not keen on keeping Emre Can this season, as he believes that the German international will not play a decisive part on their quest for multiple trophies. With the additions of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot, the 25-year-old has been dropped down the pecking order in the midfield and will find a hard time fitting in.

But according to Goal, Bayern Munich was interested in a move for Can, but with Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho joining, Der FCB ended their negotiations with Serie A champions. This is despite the fact that Niko Kovac urged his boss to reinforce his team, but Uli Hoeness has made his point clear: "Our squad is now complete and we are not looking to make any other changes,"

After moving from Liverpool to Juventus last season, Emre Can became the first choice midfielder alongside Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi, but now has tough competition. Alongside Ramsey and Rabiot, Can will have to fight with Miralem Pjanic, Blaise Matiudi, Sami Khedira and Rodrigo Betancur. He will have to make the most of the opportunity when he plays, if he wants to establish himself as a first-team star once again.
