Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are keen on bringing in Chelsea’s £40 million misfit Tiemoue Bakayoko back to the club. Monaco have been frustrated with Chelsea previously, but the club is still in negotiations with a potential move for the French central midfielder, who left Monaco two years ago.

Two years ago, Chelsea paid £40million to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco, on the back of his impressive performances and league winning campaign. However, he has hardly been able to establish himself into the Chelsea team, spending last season on loan at AC Milan. Newly appointed Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is eager to get the French midfielder off the club’s chequebook and is open to offers from other clubs.

According to reports from RMC, via Get French Football News, Monaco is eager to add a central midfielder to their squad before the transfer window closes. It is also reported that the Principality side are prioritising a move for AC Milan’s Franck Kessie, but the player’s wage demands are not acceptable. As a result, Monaco could push for a loan move for their former star player.

Initially, Chelsea didn’t want to sell their player to a non-European football playing team, but offers from other clubs have been extremely limited, which has forced the Blues to consider their options. The Europa League champions have now eased their stance on the 25 year old Bakayoko and are willing to sanction the move.
