Arsenal are finally set to sign Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan spell with manager Unai Emery revealing his admiration for the Spanish midfielder. The Gunners were not the favourites in the race but with AC Milan and Tottenham stepping out, it allowed Arsenal to win the race.

Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos, with the BBC breaking the news. The North London side have reportedly taken advantage of the fact that they are the only side left in the race, and have managed to sign the Spanish midfielder on a one-year loan spell.

Reports further add that while Arsenal were keen on an obligation to buy but Ceballos refused to leave Real Madrid as he believes that his future does indeed lie at the Bernabeu. But with Real Madrid spending well over €300 million on players this summer, the Los Blancos do need to balance their books and letting Ceballos leave is one potential way.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is a big fan of the former Real Betis star and has made his interest clear ahead of Arsenal’s pre-season clash against Real Madrid. “We have been speaking about the possibility to sign one player on loan. Ceballos is a very good player.

I know him from Betis at the beginning and Real Madrid. He played very well with the under-21s and they won with his national team in this competition" revealed Emery. The BBC further reports that Arsenal are also set to sign William Saliba for £27 million before loaning the center-half back to Saint-Etienne for one year.
