Barcelona and Zenit reached an agreement, with the Russian side paying €40 million + €5 million bonus for the 22-year-old. With few opportunities last season and facing stronger competition this year with the arrival of Griezmann, Malcom will now face a new challenge in his career.

According to RMC Sport, FC Barcelona and Zenit St Petersburg have reached an agreement for the Brazilian striker Malcom. The two sides agreed to a €40 million + €5 million bonus deal for the 22-year-old, who is expected to sign a 5-year contract with the Russian Premier League champions. This is despite links to English Premier League sides Arsenal, Everton and even Liverpool.

Reports also say that Malcom will undergo a medical this week.  Bought by the Blaugrana last season for a €41 million fee, the 22-year-old didn't get too many chances to play, making only 24 appearances. It was difficult for Malcom to get minutes last season and the arrival of the French striker Antoine Griezmann will make things even harder.

It's why the move to Zenit St Petersburg makes so much sense, and the Brazilian forward will be the fourth move that the Russian Champions have made this summer. He joins Brazilian left-back Douglas Santos from HSV Hamburg, Russian international Aleksey Sutormin from Rubin Kazan and goalkeeper Aleksandr Vasyutin from Sarspborg 08.
