As per reports, I-League winning defender Gaurav Bora has joined Delhi Dynamos for the next summer from FC Pune City and the deal would be announced soon. Bora, on loan with Chennai City FC, was a regular in the I-League and won the title with some consistent displays throughout the season.

The 20-year-old enforcer partnered brilliantly alongside Spaniard Roberto Eslava to hold the fence for the Coimbatore-based side and is coming off a brilliant season under Singaporean coach Akbar Nawaz. And Goal has now reported that Delhi have bought him from his parent club FC Pune City.

Coming off a successful I-League and a decent Super Cup campaign, Bora received huge praises for his performance and came under the radar of numerous Indian Super League (ISL) clubs. He was a fan favourite in Chennai and also scored in the final game of the season that eventually won them the Championship.

It has also been reported that Delhi had to enter long negotiations that went on for two months before the defender eventually moved. Bora made appearances in the all 20 games for CCFC last season as his team ended up conceding just 28 goals in 20 games.

The Dynamos, under new manager Josep Gombau, had a disastrous season in terms of defence last time with the likes of Mohammad Sajid Dhot and Rana Gharami not living up to the billing. With the Spaniard sticking to the club for the second consecutive season, he is looking to make changes at the back.

This has been Delhi’s third big signing this summer after they roped in left-back Jerry Mawihmingthanga from Jamshedpur FC and midfielder Xisco Hernandez from Bengaluru FC. While Xisco was a free transfer, Delhi had to pay for Bora and Jerry.
