Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has said it would be 'disrespectful' to comment on reports linking him with the Arsenal job. Unai Emery could soon face the axe and the Wolves’ Portuguese manager has been linked with a move to take over the reins at the Emirates stadium.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has come under severe pressure in recent weeks following a dismal run of games and sub-par results from the Gunners. The North London team has now failed to win a single game in 6 matches in all competitions. Emery’s team last won a Premier League game on 6th October against Bournemouth. The slump has forced Arsenal fans to be vocal and demand the sack of the former Sevilla manager.

Reports have suggested that Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi has chosen Nuno Espirito Santo as the favoured candidate to replace the Spaniard. However, the Wolves manager has refused to comment on the Arsenal job as he thinks it will be disrespectful to the current manager, according to ESPN. Nuno Espirito Santo further added that it's not a reality and implied that his future is instead at Wolves right now.

“I think you know me well enough and you know that I'm not going to answer about that. I will never mention an issue that's not a reality. Mainly speaking about a job that has a manager on it. It would be disrespectful,” said Santo to the ESPN.

Nuno took over the reins at Wolves in 2017 and guided the club into the English top-flight in his debut campaign. They finished in seventh place last season and secured European qualification upon their return to the Premier League. Wolverhampton now take on SC Braga in the UEFA Europa League and are currently second in their group with a positive result enough for them to secure a place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.
