Reports | Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane split over Christian Eriksen and Paul Pogba
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is reportedly still interested in signing Paul Pogba whereas club president Florentino Perez wants playmaker Christian Eriksen at the club. Perez is so keen that he is ready to launch an offer for the Tottenham star but Zidane disagrees with the president.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane and president Florentino Perez are reportedly split over signing Paul Pogba or Christian Eriksen in the upcoming transfer window reports the Mirror. The Spanish giants were linked to both the playmakers over the summer window and are still keen on bringing atleast one of them to the Santiago Bernabeu. The Los Blancos have been affected by a number of injuries which has stretched the squad so much so that young Federico Valverde has started a few games.
Reports indicate that this is something that Zidane doesn't want happening in the future and thus he's looking to add depth to their midfield unit. The club already spent in excess of €275 million in the summer for acquiring Eden Hazard, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo, Eder Militao and Luka Jovic. This left them with minimal funds to sign either Pogba or Eriksen, with reports even indicating that the Los Blancos couldn't afford Pogba, but now the club are ready to sign atleast one of them reports the Mirror.
Eriksen has already hinted that he might leave the North London club on a bosman with his deal is set to expire at the end of the season, while Pogba has been looking for a new challenge. However, Perez wants the Danish star in January and is willing to offer €30 million to Tottenham, a deal that they might just have to take. It remains to be seen if Perez will be able to convince Zidane on signing Eriksen over Pogba as the French manager prefers Pogba over Eriksen.
