AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta has been shining for Serie A giants AC Milan despite the club struggling to find their best form this season. Paqueta’s exploits at Milan has lead senior Italian journalist Fabio Caressa back creative midfielder to excel at Milan in the coming days.

Lucas Paqueta signed for Milan in January from Brazilian side Flamengo, with news agencies reporting the agreed fee in the region of £38 million. The 23-year-old Brazilian was quick to settle in the new surroundings and was a regular starter in former Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso’s line up. However, this season Paqueta has not been a regular in the starting line up but has impressed whenever called up in the lineup.

The Samba star started the game against Leece and looked in good rhythm before he was replaced in the 67th minute by Rade Krunic. His performances has lead experienced Italian journalist Fabio Caressa heap praises on Paqueta, as per Calciomercato. He told that Paqueta is improving and it still might feel that he is yet to justify his price tag but has the potential and the talent to turn things around soon.

“I know Paqueta is still doing very little to justify his price tag. And yet, if you talk with the Brazilians or with people who have seen him play in Brazil, they will tell you that he is a phenomenon. We haven't seen him producing that kind of performance here yet but I think with time, he will improve,” Caressa told Sky Sports after the game.

Brazil legend Kaka too joined Milan at the age of 24 and became a part of one of the best teams in European history. Having won the Ballon D’or, the UEFA Champions League and the Serie A during his time at Milan, Kaka became an inspiration for young Paqueta. Paqueta too could work hard and along with his brilliant skills follow Kaka’s footsteps.

The former Flamengo star has 23 Milan appearances to his name but only one goal to account. He will hope to add more to the tally as the season progresses and new manager Stefano Poli hands him adequate chances. Caressa is optimistic that the midfielder will be able to replicate the form that he had in his home country.
