Reports | Zinedine Zidane unhappy with Real Madrid over Paul Pogba
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is extremely unhappy with the club after they failed to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer. Despite a summer of heavy spending, Zidane wanted the midfielder to be signed, but no move ever occurred and any deal is now off the table.
Zinedine Zidane is getting increasingly angered at the club and its top officials with each passing day, reports Sport. The former French International believes that the club never really had shown any interest towards signing Paul Pogba - there have been no negotiations about the 26-year-old with United. Apparently, Zidane feels let down and lied to, by Los Blancos supremo Florentino Pérez.
The Manchester United midfielder’s brother and his agent have publicly stated his desire to leave Old Trafford earlier, with the Bernabeu understood to be Pogba’s preferred destination. However, the Spanish giants are unwilling to meet United's £150m asking price, with the Red Devils refusing to reduce their valuation.
Real Madrid are now only left with Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes or Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen. If Real Madrid are to sign a midfielder this summer, the club knows that they will have to move swiftly, as the European transfer window is set to close on 2nd September.
