Kerala Blasters midfielder Sergio Cidoncha claimed that the Indian Super League “is at a very high good level” and he can feel the professionalism. The attacking midfielder was part of Jamshedpur FC in the 2018-19 ISL but signed for the Kerala-based club in the transfer window earlier this year.

Cidoncha played 12 matches for the ‘Men of Steel’ last season and impressed heavily with his playmaking skills. The Spaniard scored three goals and assisted an equal number of times in the ISL last season but failed to inspire his team to a playoff berth. He feels good about the fact that the league is maintaining a high level of football and professionalism.

"I felt very good because I love this league. I love to play here; I think it is at a very good level. There are very good players here and I felt good. You can feel the professionalism here,” said the former Atletico Madrid B player.

Kerala Blasters FC have revamped their side in the build-up to the new season, roping in foreigners like Bartholomew Ogbeche, Gianni Zuiverloon and Mario Arques along with tactician Eelco Schattorie. Cidoncha is confident that they have the firepower to make it big in the 2019-20 ISL.

"We are working hard, we are improving. We can improve more. I think we have a good, competitive team. In the future, we can be at the top of the table,” added Cidoncha.

The new season of the ISL is starting on October 20 with Kerala Blasters FC hosting two-time winners ATK in the curtain-raiser.
